Why MK Pilates? There is no real reason other than when I arrived at TrainFitness for my initial practical training, I was greated by Malcolm Muirhead, one of the Master trainers in MK Pilates. And so it began.
I have always been a fan of Pilates, because I genuinely enjoy core and back strengthening workouts, but Pilates made me realise that there is so much more to understaning the body instead of just going through the motions.
I love that Pilates has a mind/body connection. That you have to listen to your body and clear your mind in order to focus on each exercise and feel what it does for you.
The *Principles of Pilates are easy to learn, but hard to master, but I enjoy exploring them in each session and it's possible to focus on just one principle at a time, in order to reach that precision that we are all after when we enjoy something to the fullest.
There is no right or wrong Pilates style. Joseph Pilates did not patent his moves, but I feel MK Pilates brings you back to the basics. You work up to intermediate and advanced moves in a safe and effective way, at your own pace and therefore beginners and more advanced students alike can enjoy this style of Pilates. There is just so much to learn every time.
I look forward to teaching MK Pilates in my local community to allow more people to discover the wonderful benefits of Pilates.
